Personal attack—whether on the dreaded forums, incorrectly filtered game chats, group walls, or even comment sections of items—is not something new to the community of Roblox; drama is ninety percent of the world of Roblox. People have thought of pretty clever ways to get people banned (sometimes themselves, though that's usually not on purpose) in all of these places—but no one has ever thought of using the one thing everyone wants against people: Robux. That's what we're going to jump into today: Poison Robux.
Poison Robux is an interesting new phenomenon, and, unfortunately, is probably being used against someone at this very moment. I'm here to warn you about it, and also how avoid it altogether—be careful. It doesn't always end well for the victims.
So what is Poison Robux? First off, no, it's not when someone scams you or when they lead you to some place or website that steals your information. In fact, Poison Robux ironically seems innocent, and, in some cases, isn't even meant to harm you! But, as you likely figured out the hard way, Roblox employees are often too busy to deal with such cases. However, it is their involvement that marks the end of the victim's account. Poison Robux is when someone gives you a heap on Robux. Seems fine, right? Everyone wants to be that rich guy with a million gamepasses! But, as I hinted already, there are the possible downsides.
When someone gives you a lot of Robux, you might want to thank them and praise them and whatever else you can think of to show your appreciation, but, in some cases, the "gifter"'s intentions are less I've-got-a-halo-over-my-head than you'd think. You see, when you receive this money—and this is where the Roblox employees play in—your increase in Robux is logged. The Roblox administrators and moderators (uh-oh!) might notice the large increase. As you party, your account is being slowly dragged into Banland. But why? It's simple: The Roblox workers thought you're a scammer/hacker and decided to punish you for it. You get banned.
The scariest part about this is that it's possible for everyone involved in the Poison Robux situation to have good intentions—or just be innocent in general. How can you try to avoid this? Here are some suggestions:
• Try not to make donation clothing or over-expensive donation gamepasses/developer products
• Do not accept trade deals in which your partner is giving you much more expensive items than yours
• In general, do not take unreasonable amounts of Robux for no good reason (for example, someone offers you seven million Robux)
• Obviously, stay away from people who you suspect of giving Poison Robux, or do not engage in economic doings with them; if they mention Robux, avoid them entirely or find another way out of it
• If you already got "poisoned", take a screenshot of the transaction
If you've been poisoned already, don't panic. You've still got a chance to have your account back—when you're banned, your account is not truly erased, according to many. You may try to repeal. If the person intentionally "poisoned" you, you can accuse them. Try to contact Roblox about it in as many legal ways possible—email them, privately message a Roblox employee, and whatever else you can think of. It may, however, be useful to keep in mind that Roblox might not reply or even notice your revokings. But do not give up! You've still got a chance. Just avoid the forums—Roblox is ruthless there, and it may be the spotlight of moderation. One of the rules there is to not talk about any past rule-breakings or punishments from Roblox. This is what Roblox employee InceptionTime posted: "Don't post [about] your suspensions. Talking about your suspensions on the forums is not allowed because it’s just a cry for attention. We do want to hear feedback about the moderation system—post it in the Suggestions and Ideas [sub]forum. [Email] your specific ban complaints to appeals@roblox.com."
That's the end of today's blog; I hope you enjoy your day and avoid being "poisoned" with Robux! Just be careful—you'll be fine if you are! And, to those who have been "poisoned", good luck! I hope you get your repeal noticed and believed. Have fun!
