Robloxians are voting, developers are advertising and asking for votes, and everyone's waiting impatiently to see who wins the Bloxy Awards of 2017! The Bloxy Awards have been one of the events every Robloxian wants to see, with developers, games, videos, art, and more are to have a spotlight shone upon them! People are still voting today, but votes are closing; they'll stop on November the seventeenth. If you haven't nominated, do it, and if you're a developer or video creator, get attention while you can!
In a previous Bloxy Awards, there was some controversy about some of the games which triumphed. For one award, the "hardest game" award, a supposedly free-modelled (to use public assets made by others) and low-quality game. This game was a typically obstacle course riddled with colourful blocks. Some speculate younger users have voted for it. Additionally, some offer the idea only users thirteen-plus should be allowed to vote. Some users even suggested bots have been involved in the voting, though this is unlikely, for bots are typically used for scamming (for profit). An example of a typical obstacle course:
There are various categories people, games, videos, and more can be nominated for—quirkiest game, best showcase render, best game trailer, best avatar render, favourite breakout game, favourite updated game, hardest Roblox game, best single-player game, best team-based multiplayer game, best free-for-all game, best art direction in a game, best tutorial, favourite showcase, favourite map, best lobby, best GUIs, best original character, best showcase render, best video (YouTube/Twitch) channel, best comedic video, best action video, best music video, best fan art, best GIF, favourite live streamer, best original music score, best custom items, best Tweet, best clothing company, best social group, best game logo, best Twitter channel, and best Roblox developer toy! Additionally, the top prizes are solo developer of the year, studio of the year, builder of the year, game of the year, video of the year, mobile game of the year, and Xbox game of the year! Those who get the last-mentioned will be most honoured amongst the community for years to come. In total, there are fifteen new categories this year, opening opportunities for more!
Roblox officially recognized "over one point nine million...developers" in one of its recent blogs; this is out of "sixty million monthly active players", meaning three point one six repeating percent of the community are developers. This means, assuming these are the only candidates, you—assuming you are a candidate—have a probability of winning that would need to be put in scientific notation for one Bloxy Award, so these are not at all to be taken lightly. If you win, wow!
In short, the Bloxy Awards are highly anticipated by the Roblox community and will showcase the (likely) best games, developers, creators, videos, GIFs, music and more out there! Candidates—advertise! Robloxians—vote! You can make a difference in who wins, and it may be you! Many are expected to watch the event and root for their favourites. With fifteen new categories and a low chance of winning, creators are biting their nails, waiting to see who will have the honour of an award—or possibly multiple!
